SOMOS PRIMOS . . . .  WE ARE COUSINS

 

The free access website  SomosPrimos.is an archive of 240 monthly magazine format publications, published online between the years 2000 - 2020.

The mission of Somos Primos is to encourage and assist individuals with Spanish heritage to research their family roots, their ancestral story. 

Somos Primos has always been a volunteer effort which originated by members of "The Society of Hispanic Historical and Ancestral Research, SHHAR " 

 

Somos Primos grew from a newsy research-group flyer in the 1980s to an 18-page print publication in the 1990s, serving its members for ten years in that format.  The online move to the computer was made to increase national and international outreach for family researchers. 

During those forty years, Mimi Lozano has served consistently as the Editor.

Since some information and articles in Somos Primos were current and political, the SHHAR Board decided, rather than risk having their Non-Profit status revoked, to cut SHHAR legal ties to SomosPrimos.  Mimi and family are hosting Somos Primos online.

(1) Do locate and visit a LDS Family History Center. They are free, staffed by volunteers.

You can search all the 240 issues by a specific ancestor's name, a family surname, an event,  and location.  Individuals who submitted that information might be your cousin.
